Choose Joy~
Praise God we have choices! We can choose to be joyful! We can choose to forgive, we can choose to forget. We can choose what we watch or listen to on TV or internet. We can choose to listen to the world and its craziness or we can choose to listen to and put our eyes on God’s Word and what He says and thinks about us! It’s a choice. What will you choose today? Be intentionally joyful!
I choose joy, love, peace-sound familiar? Sounds like the fruits of the Holy Spirit! Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self control. (Galatians 5:22). We choose to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh and the Holy Spirit produces these fruits within us including JOY!
We can also choose what we say about ourselves. We choose either positive or negative self-talk. If we choose negative self talk we think and say these thoughts in the left column. But we can choose to instead think or say these things about ourselves in the right column:
Negative Cognitions / Positive Cognitions
I don’t matter / I do matter
I’m not good enough / I'm good enough
I should have known better / I could not have known
I’m damaged / I'm good enough
I’m stupid / I'm smart enough
I’m unlovable / I'm lovable
I’m to blame / I didn't do anything wrong
It’s not ok to show my emotions / It's ok to show my emotions
I’m helpless / I have choices
I’m weak / I am strong
I have to be perfect / I can be myself
