Discover the true you-Training your spirit, soul and body~

When we know whose we are-children of God, we will discover who we are and who God has called us to be! Just as we move our bodies to gain physical exercise, we too must direct and exercise our spirit for profitable spiritual exercise. Paul puts it this way in his letter to his mentee, Timothy-
"Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come." 1 Timothy 4:8.
Some of the ways I like to train for godliness and build up my spirit includes praising God and thanking Him for all He has done for me as James 1:17 reminds us “every good gift comes from above.” I read or listen to my daily reading in the One Year Bible app. I also intentionally meditate on the promises from God, promises that remind me who God says I am. I am the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21), I am victorious in Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57), I have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), I am successful in Christ (Psalm 1:3) and I am complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10). Even if I don’t feel these things, I choose to believe these promises about what God thinks about me. I have decided to believe God’s truth over what the world says or thinks about me. I choose to lean on these words and not my own thoughts or current emotions. What a great escape-to the truth!
I have listed some of my favorite promises of God on my website available as a free download. Go to my Get fit with God page on my website and download these identity in Christ scriptures, print these out, post them on your bathroom mirror or leave them in your purse or in your pocket. These are so helpful and speak to who we need to remember we are in Christ. Keep these promises close to your heart, pick out a few that really mean something to you that you can stand on when the devil begins to tell you that you’re not successful enough, or not confident enough or you are just not where you should be yet. Fight back with your sword of your spirit which is the Word of God! Ephesians 6:17.
How do you like to feed your spirit??
