Faith not fear~

Sometimes it seems as if our country, our world is imploding-nations, government, universities, families, people struggling more than ever with unhealthy habits and addictions... But I can better understand the madness when I remember that we are fighting a spiritual battle. Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12- For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. He says in verse 10 to "be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil... 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Satan’s name means “the deceiver” (Revelation 12:9). He will try everything he can to prevent us fulfilling God’s will for our lives for God's Kingdom. He often speaks quietly to us. Satan is called the accuser (Revelation 12:10), he is a liar, he comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10), he causes fear, depression, doubt, unworthiness and condemnation. Whenever you begin to feel these things know they are from the devil and do not entertain them. Jesus said “get behind me satan” and James 4:7 says So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
When we walk in faith, not fear, we are mindful of who God says we are and what we have in Him! By faith we know we can hold tight to all of God’s promises. Paul tells us to get dressed each day in the 7-piece armor clothing to remind us of what we have in Christ! We wear mighty weapons of God. We are to dress each day being mindful of our breastplate of Jesus’ righteousness, God’s belt of Truth, the helmet or assurance of our salvation protecting our mind and thoughts, the surefooted shoes of the gospel of peace, a shield of faith to quench satan’s firey attacks, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God speaking the Word over our situations and finally pray always in the Spirit! Fight fear with faith every time and worship and praise God because we know how the story ends-we are on the winning team!
