Happy 4th of July and happy birthday month!!! I am turning 27 tomorrow😊 Just kidding but we are all 27 with the Holy Spirit! How is your grilling going today?? For many years my 4th of July parties consisted of keg beer, vodka and rum jello shooters and lots of burgers, chips and sour cream onion dip. But praise Jesus I have changed my thinking and my way of life through an intentional lifestyle of faith and fitness!
Here are some favorite healthy summer cookout substitutes to my once unhealthy way of life~enjoy your day!
-Grilled turkey burgers-mix turkey breast meat with finely chopped favorite veggies, even add small bits of goat cheese and shape into burgers. Grill and eat with toasted Ezekiel bread or gluten free buns, spread with fresh avocado!
-Grill fresh or frozen mahi, grouper or salmon defrosted overnight adding olive oil and lemon juice
-Grill favorite sliced vegetables on aluminum foil or use skewers
-Summer salads travel very well
-Buy beautiful fruit salads already prepared or chop fresh fruits yourself with watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas and melons
-Jacksons coconut oil potato chips
-Beanitos black or white bean chips with guacamole
-Slices of orange, lemon, cucumber and mint and place each in a pitcher of water
-Serve sparkling water with a raspberry in each cup
Enjoy the summer with healthy, colorful foods God made for us to enjoy! Don’t forget to eat naturally, exercise daily, experience God, encourage others and enjoy life!
