Happy, Healthy, Holiday Cheer!
Holidays can be so joyful, inspiring and uplifting but they can also be a time of pain, sorrow and depression for some. I know I have had my share of holiday fears and tears in the past. Here are some helpful tips to put into practice around the holidays to avoid a Christmas crash~
1. Go for a walk! Get plenty of exercise-this will raise your endorphin and serotonin levels and all natural healthy stress relievers.
2. Choose sparkling water instead of wine or alcohol-Alcohol is a depressant and so drinking while depressed will only make matters worse.
3. Call someone-call a friend, a mentor, a sponsor and let them know you are reaching out, tell someone how much you love them and you need to hear a good story.
4. Go to a church or a Bible study-there are churches on every corner, go visit a new one and especially find a Christmas eve service. Go out of your way to introduce yourself to someone there and ask them to pray for you.
5. Choose to eat natural fruits instead of processed sugar snacks-sugar is a natural high but also leads to a quick crash. Eat fruits instead of fake, processed sugar.
6. Drink lots of water to help your body feel better this season!
7. Call us if you need someone to talk to! Kates Faith and Fitness, 772.2502.3878 and leave a message for a call back this holiday season. Let us know how we can pray for you!
8. Read something good each day-call or write to us and we can send you a One Year Bible for a good, heart healthy, daily dose of God’s promises!
9. Pray! Talk to God each morning, noon and night and know HE is always ready to hear your sweet voice!
10. Gratitude list! Thank God for at least 10 things each day and you will find that being thankful and grateful can lift you up.
11. Worship instead of worry! Lord, we praise you for all you are doing in our lives! Help us to enjoy the real reason for the season, thank you for sending your Son to live, die and rise up for me to give me a hope and a future! We praise you praise you praise you Jesus!!
12. Watch something healthy-TBN, Daystar and other Christian TV networks have uplifting, positive shows on every 30 minutes and will also include healthy movies this holiday season.
13. Go fishing!! Try something different, learn something new! You may have a few days off so use them to go camping, learn to skateboard or do something new and exciting~
